Annual Events Calendar - Middle School

St. Pius provides many fun and faith filled activities for middle school students throughout the year. See the Current Events page for a list of upcoming activities.

Xcite Nites

Xcite Nites are held 2-3 times throughout the school year and are planned by and for Middle School students. Xcite Nites are held from 6-9 pm on Saturday nights and include food, games, contests and lots of fun.

SummerBlast

Blast is Believers Learning and Serving Together. Students begin each day at a different participating White Bear Lake church.  They begin with big music and theme activity.  They have small groups with super fun leaders then head to a community service site.  It’s back to the church for lunch and they spend the afternoon having fun at cosmic bowling, Wild Mountain, the Park at MOA, Bunker Beach Wave Pool and Square Lake.  For students completing the 6-8th grade.  SummerBLAST is typically held the week after the 4th of July.

The Hunger for Catholic Missions

The Hunger is a 30 hour fast for middle and high school students. Students will be educated about poverty and justice issues, develop awareness about the needs of those in crisis here and abroad and serve the local community.  It is also an opportunity to raise financial & prayer support for mission work.

The Hunger is typically held the 2nd weekend in March (Friday night and all day Saturday).

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Vacation Bible School is offered for one week in the summer, typically late June.  It is for children pre-school (3 & 4 yrs) to 4th grade. There are skits, crafts, Bible stories and snacks! Students in Grades 5-12 are encouraged to volunteer during the week.  All youth volunteers (under 18) must fill out a Volunteer Registration Form and submit three letters of recommendation. The Letter of Recommendation forms can be picked up in the Faith Formation Office.  Contact Julie Olson @ 651-762-3631 for this program.
