Course Schedule for 2011-2012           
A schedule for all upcoming 2011-2012 Confirmation Course dates will be mailed to all families who have attended the Parent Orientation and submitted completed confirmation registration forms, baptism certificate and sacramental fee. Students are not considered registered for the program if the above requirements are not met and will not be allowed to attend classes until the requirements are met. Incomplete paperwork will be returned.


Attending the Courses
Your sponsor must attend with you. Parents accompany you for Course 4a & 4b only.

Course Cancellations
If we need to cancel a course due to bad weather, we will post notices on the confirmation page of the web site and our facebook fan page. If in doubt, please call ahead.

Homework Options
If your school or another parish/Archdiocese is offering a class or program with a similar theme (such as: Theology of the Body, Chastity, Vocations, Social Outreach, Liturgy, Eucharistic Conferences to name a few), please contact Laura to substitute a particular course.

Course Overviews

Course 1 - I Act: An overview of Catholic Social Teaching.   This course will involve the student in faith-based social justice and a student-lead social outreach project.

Course 2 - I Believe: A detailed breaking open of our Catholic beliefs by focusing on the Nicene Creed. Candidates share why they are choosing to live their life as a Catholic instead of other Christian religions or sects.

Course 3  -  I Connect: This course has the candidate set a plan for spiritual support by using their trusted Catholic connections living here with them or living in Heaven. Attendees will explore saints, angels, and current mentors.

Course 4 - I Discern: This course is taken in two parts.
4a – Catholic Morality focusing on the virtues, beatitudes, and Commandments, making decisions according to a properly formed moral conscience.
4b - Learn to discern God’s will for your future. Marriage, consecrated single life, ordained, or religious life will be covered.

Required attendance: Candidate and Parents

Course 5 - I Evangelize: Define your personal relationship with Jesus.  Learn practical ways to tell others about this relationship with actions and words.  Scriptural and papal teaching focuses on why and how to share your faith story.

Course 6 -  I Follow: A walk through the Mass, the majesty, mystery, and miracle of the Eucharist.

Course 7 - I am Gifted: This course meets at the Cathedral of St. Paul on a Saturday morning. Candidates, sponsors, and guests use the building to teach about our heritage as Catholics in Minnesota while sharing their own cultural roots.
